Foreign Office, July 6, 1910. I AM directed by Secretary Sir Edward Grey to acknowledge the receipt of letter of the 2nd instant respecting the proposed International Conference on the opium traffic.
The reply of the Government of India has now been received, and I am to suggest that the Inter-Departmental Committee referred to in your letter should meet at as early a date as possible. Tuesday, the 12th July, at 3 P.M., has been suggested to the India Office and Colonial Office as a convenient date for meeting at this Office, and I am to express the hope that this date may also be convenient to the representative deputed to attend on behalf of your department.
