With reference to my letter of the 15th instant
and previous correspondence, I an directed by Secre-
tury Sir Edward Grey to enclose paraphrases of two
further telegrams, the former from and the latter to
His Majesty's Minister at Peking, respecting the re-
fusal of the Viceroy of Canton to surrender a native
of the new Territory adjoinin: Hongkong, who is
charged with the crime of murder in that verritory,
and I am to state, for the information of the Earl of
Crewe, as follows:-
