I have laid before the Lords Commissioners of
His Majesty's Treasury Mr. Cox's letter of the 4th instant (23768/1910) further respecting the maintenance of the British Postal Agencies in China.
In reply I am to statethat My Lords will endeavour to arrive as soon as possible at a decision as to the course to be adopted with regard to the Agencies; but They cannot undertake to do so within the time speci- fied by the Secretary of State.
