Sir,
I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of
your letter of the 4th instant, No. 23234, with
enclosures, regarding Captain P. H. M. Taylor, and to
request that you will be good enough to inform Captain
Taylor through Sir F. Lugard that the Secretary of
State for India in Council has decided to forego any
claim against him for contribution towards Ind i an
Pension in respect of his service as Aide-de-Camp to
the Governor of HongKong up to the 28th August 1910, (i.e. one month after the date of receipt by him of
the Secretary of State's recent decision, and not
from that date, as is assumed by Sir F. Lugard); but that if he continues to hold his present
appointment, he will be required to pay full pension
