to the pension contributions of Captain Taylor for
the period of his service as A.D.C. to the Governor
of Hongkong.
In reply I am to say that Viscount Morley
has learnt with regret that Lord Crewe has been unable
to modify his opinion that neither the Government
of Hongkong nor the Treasury should be asked to defray these contributions . Before however coming to a
decision as to the manner in which the questions artsing from the non-payment of the contribut ions already due should be disposed of, Viscount Morley would be glad if, with Lord Crewe's permission, a copy of the correspondence with your Department on the subject could be forwarded to Sir F.
