I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of Sir

1.00 C.Lucas's letter of the 23rd May No. 13285/1910

regarding pension contributions in respect of Captain

P.H.M. Taylor's service as Aide-de-Camp to the

Governor of Hong Kong. The Secretary of State for

India in Council regrets that he cannot share the view

there expressed that there was anything in the letter

13660 from your Department of 19th April 1907, applying for

the services of Captain Taylor in this capacity, from

which it should have been inferred by him that the

case did not come under the ordinary arrangements for

adjusting the pensionary liability in respect of

Indian officers lent for Colonial Service. Had the
