With reference to your letter No. 7 W
Kong 1029 of the "th. January last, I am directed to inform
you that the Contractor for the Market at Kowloon Point has
lodged with this Government a claim for $4,586 on account
of the delay to his work caused by the non-arrival of the iron-
-work from England.

The following is a summary by Mr. Fisher
of the Public Works Department of what has occurred:-

telegram of 1.11.09 and reporting that work
was practically stopped for want of the
ironwork.
