and at present all the mails from the German Post Office
are delivered to the British Post Office which forwards
them to Hon-kong. To grant the concession asked for would
therefore entail a loss of revenue. for which no reciprocal

advantages would be gained. There is also no necessity in
the interests of the Community at Canton in allowing the
concession.

I am of opinion that the object-
-ions to granting the concession
asked for by the Geran
Post Office are valid and that the application should not
be entertained.
