the Government of Hongkong I have had a great deal of experience
of plague and I venture to think that my reports on plague
epidemics xx in Hongkong have not been without value. I may
say that the University of Aberdeen conferred on me the degree
of Doctor of Medicine in 1906 with highest honours
ry thesis
submitted when a candidate for the **** degree being "A contri-

M.B., C.M., at the University of Aberdeen in 1893, taking the
Diploma in Public Health (D.P.H.) in 1894 from the same
University.

Shipley, F.R.S., and Dr. Graham Smith, when courses were held
in pathology, protozoology, entomology etc. I also attended a course, under Professor Sir John Macfadyeen at the Royal Veteri- -nary College London, of Veterinary pathology, bacteriology and
Tropical diseases.

Should I be honored by the appointment I now seek I venture to think that my qualifications and wide general experience of the tropica as well as my special knowledge of the Colony of Mauritius would enable me to carry out my
