I have cxamined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled

An Ordinance to amend the Pharmacy Amendment Ordinance, 1910,

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's

Instructions,

Revenue Officers are appointed under section 27 of the Liquors

Ordinance, 1909, (Ordinance 27 of 1909) and they are granted the

power of searching goods and baggage.

The Pharmacy Amendment Ordinance, 1910, (Ordinance 9 of 1910) authorises searches with warrants by Police Officers (section,3),

under the last named Ordinance This Ordinance proposes to include in the power of search European Revenue Officers who hold a warrant under the Liquors Ordinance, 1909: The main object is to detect the illicit importation of cocaine by searching cargo and this object will be better secured by the European Revenue Officers.
