From the Bonham Strand level. If funds are available it would be advisable to resume one house at the corner of Bonhan Strand East and West,, adjoining shops 14, 20, 21, 22, 23, 1 and 2 on plan A. By making a fourth entrance to the market the Western stalls on the market should let just as well as the Nastonn ones.

3.
Latrine accommodation should be provided
on both floors preferably in the space on each floor marked 2 Plan B and under the space marked X. Coolie quarters should be built on the site of the present coolie quarters over the Morrison Street entrance, site Y Påan B.
4.
By adopting this scheme the area available for stalls will practically be doubled. The presont revenue of the market is roughly $1,500 per mensen. The new market when completed should bring in a revenue of not less than $2,250 per mensen as at present the accommodation for vegetables stalls la insufficient, there is no accommodation for fruit and the salt fish stall-holders who for some years have been turned out of the market would be allowed to return. I am un- -able to estimate the coat of the building but the total return which would not be less than $27,000 per annum would make a handsome return on the capital expended.
