Notice to Emigrants going to Peru.
This is to notify that I the undersigned
have been deputed by the Governor-General to be stationed in
Hongkong to examine all matters connected with the Chinese
merchants going to Peru. An office has been established for the
purpose at No. 71, Wyndhan Street and the Consul for Feru in
Hongkong has been consulted and proper arrangements made. In fu-
-ture all merchants and others going to Peru who have reported
themselves to the Chamber of Commerce at Cantoh and have been
granted certificates by the Taotal of Industry, must, on arrival.

respectable merchants and do not belong to the labouring class,

seal on their certificates and send them to the Consul for Peru

property. If you have already obtained certificates in Canton,
