Mr. H. Keswick) advised that Mr. Morris should be dis-
-missed from the Public Service.

Prior to his offence Mr. Morris
was drawing salary at the rate of £180 per annum and con-
-veyance allowance at the rate of $180 per annum. The pay
of 2nd. Class Overseer is £165 rising to £225 by £15
triennially: and the date of Mr. Morris' first appointment
was the 12th. May, 1905. He, therefore, loses £15 per
annum and the benefit of 5 years' service as the result of
the decision of the majority of the Executive Council and
I think that in the circumstances this penalty is suffi-
-cient to meet the case.
