That whereas in the interest and promotion of Joint
traffic from Canton it will be necessary to provide a pier
and to arrange for a Railway Ferry, the Chinese Section
must agree to pay interest un half the cost of the pier
together with half the maintenance and service charge at
the pier and also to hear half the load of working a
Perry Service should it be deemed expedient to run one in
the interests of the Railway alone before Traffic warrants
