In reply to your Confidential
Despatch of the 21st. ultimo, I have the honour to state
that upon receipt of Your Lordship's telegram of the 15th.
ultimo I asked Mr. E. S. Lindsey whether, after consider-
-ing the report of the Consulting Engineers, he still
adhered to his views as to the terminal station at
Kowloon of the Kowloon-Canton Railway. Mr. Lindsey re-
-ported on the 16th. ultimo that he adhered to his
views, and he has therefore been authorised to take
action in accordance with the proposals made in Sir F.
D. Lugard's Despatch of the 3rd. of last February.
