Dear Sir,
As I am threatened with immediate dismissal
unless I resign, I have no alternative but to submit, though
in doing so, I do not admit that I am guilty of the charges
brought against me. So far as I can see, some one has, for
the sake of shear vindictiveness, used his influence to bring
about my downfall, and all † can say is that the Government,
instead of treating the matter in a fair and unprejudiced
manner, has dealt with me most harshly and unjustly. Such
injustice is the last thing one would expect from a British
Government.
