Report on Ordinance No.... 15. of 1910.
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled
An Ordinance to amend the Protection of Women and
Girls Ordinance, 1897
and I am of opinion that the Grdinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's
Instructions,
This Ordinance effects an amendment in Ordinance 4 of 1897.
Section 32 of that Ordinance enacts that * no parent or per-
» acting in the place of a parent who has voluntarily parted with
(girl for the purpose of adoption into another family, or who has
gin
received money for the parting with the custody of such girl for any
ther purpose, shall be deemed to be entitled as of right to the
justody of such girl".
The Registrar General has demonstrated that as the law stands
