With reference to enclosure No. 2

in my Despatch No. 187 of the 31st. ultimo, I have the

honour to inform Your Lordship that, upon the recommenda-

-tion of the Director of Education, I have appointed Mr..........

R. C. Barlow, formerly Assistant Master at the Saiyingpun

Anglo-Chinese School, to the new post of Inspector of

Schools, which in order to avoid misconception, I have had

renamed Supervisor in the Education Department.

In view of this transfer the

Director of Education has recommended further that Mr.

A. Hamilton, of the Ellis Kadoorie School, should be

appointed Assistant Master at the Salyingpun School as

from the beginning of next term, and that in the meantime

the lapsing pay of Assistant Master (£22. 10 per mensem

equals say $250) should be divided among the staff of the

Salyingpun School in the following way:-
