Common Room,

T. K. Dealy, Esq.,

Director of Education, Hongkong.

Sir,

Middle Temple,E.C.,

October 29th., 1909.

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt

of your letter of the 30th. ultimo asking me to explain the

attached voucher:

The items refer to fittings supplied by

Messrs. Aches to my quarters at Victoria School in 1905 (not

1906). These fittings are still there and belong to me.

I recognise the vouchers as those which I

corrected for A Chee who had included items for my quarters in

the School account. After this correction he made separate

bills for school items and all these have been duly paid by the

Education Office.

The two vouchers attached, after correction

were kept by me merely for reference. They were not and were

never intended to be submitted to the Office for payment. Not

having been destroyed after the school account was paid the

vouchers appear to have been discovered and

submitted to you to cause misapprehension.

unnecessarily

I may add that having bought most of the

furniture for my quarters from A Chee and paid for the same

immediately I do not propose to pay this debit balance until I

have verified it by reference to my receipts. I am however

notifying the liquidators of the firm that the Victoria School

owes nothing and that any outstanding account must be submitted

to me in the proper form with an explanation of the delay.

I have etc.,

(sd.) W. H. Williams.
