Colonial Secretary,

Inspector Lamble and his wife are separated

by consent. A document to that effect was drawn up when he was
on leave 2 years ago. Inspector Lamble agreed to pay £8 0 0
per mensem towards his wife's maintenance. It was also verbally
agreed I understand that Mrs. Lamble should acknowledge all
monies received.
•
2.
Inspector Lamble sent the usual remittance
of £8 0 •
0 on 1st. February, 1910 (I actually saw the P.0.
receipt). He then ceased remitting money as he had not heard
from Mrs. Lamble since 15th. December, 1909. He received a
letter while in Hospital on 8th. June, 1910, and thereupon
remitted £8 0 O for June as soon as he came out of Hospital.
I understand Mrs. Lamble changed her

.
address during the interval without giving notice of the fact
to Inspector Lamble who received private information to that
effect. She is now back at the old address.
4.
As far as I can judge Inspector Lamble has
carried out his share of the arrangement and Mrs. Lamble has only
herself to blame for the trouble which has arisen. I would there-
-fore suggest that Government decline to move in the matter any
further.
24th. June, 1910.
