sir,

I most respectfully beg to report that on

the 6th., 8th. and 10th. instant 5 Sikh Policemen have been

patrolling round the boundary of Sha Tau Kok, in British Territory (and also on the beach in front of the station but

below the high water mark, which I believe is British Terri- -tory). As the patrolling on their part is likely to continue

and in case anything should crop up beg to ask for instruction

for future guidance.

The above patrolling is, I believe, owing

to the importation of Shamshu into British Territory being

prohibited.

!

Sha Tau Kok,

9th. May, 1910.

I am etc.,

(sd.) J. J. Egan,

III Class T.W.
