I take it that I an liberty to make a

further representation. I would point out the following:-
(1). Mr. Fletcher got a gratuity equal to † pay, and
an appointment, the latter being the main con-
-sideration. The work which I propose to do will
not in any way help my promotion, so that I
submit that I ought at least to get the half-pay.
(2). Under the proposed arrangement I would give the
Government my full time for three months and get
only pay for it.
(3). Attending at the Principal Probate Registry and
the Central Office would entail the extra expense
of living in London or travelling daily to it,
while my family plans would lead me to live in
the country.
Will His Excellency reconsider his decision?
