Hon. Colonial Secretary,

Enclosure 2.

CO 643

20703

RECR

I take it that I an liberty to make a

10

further representation. I would point out the following:-

(1). Mr. Fletcher got a gratuity equal to † pay, and

an appointment, the latter being the main con-

-sideration. The work which I propose to do will

not in any way help my promotion, so that I

submit that I ought at least to get the half-pay.

(2). Under the proposed arrangement I would give the

Government my full time for three months and get

only pay for it.

(3). Attending at the Principal Probate Registry and

the Central Office would entail the extra expense

of living in London or travelling daily to it,

while my family plans would lead me to live in

the country.

Will His Excellency reconsider his decision?
