Dear Miss Dalrymple Hay,
You have heard by now that I have left Hong-
-kong, and I wish that you had never sent me there. Had I
remained any longer I would have been ill; as it is, I have not
been well since I left. I was not experienced enough for such
a long period of private work, and the only thing I could do was
to get away without making any bother. I had no one to advise me
as to what else to do, so I quietly left. I am suited for
Hospital work, and I believe Sir Allan Perry, Colombo, is going
to write you, and will give me a post, re-engage me at the
Hospital after he hears from you.
It is most necessary for me to get work, and
at once, so be good enough to consider that I am without friends
and no money in the Colonies, and Sir Allan Perry knows that I
can work the wards satisfactorily, if you kindly let him have
a satisfactory reply from you. I enclose Sir Allan Perry's
letter to you; kindly let me have it back.
reply.
Thanking you in anticipation for an early
Kindest regards,
Yours sincerely,
(Sa.) Christina E. McLeish.
