O P Y.
sir,
Public Works Office,
Hongkong, 21st. May, 1910.

I had occasion recently to require to
consult a plan showing the boundaries of Mountain Lodge Grounds,
but, on enquiring for one, I found that there was no reliable
plan in existence. A plan showing the proposed boundaries of the
grounds was prepared and forwarded to the Secretary of State but
no proper copy of it was retained in this office, only pencil
lines, which are in some cases not very definite, being marked
on the original plan.
An amendment of the boundaries was made
subsequently and boundary stones were put in to define the
positions of these amended boundaries, but the remaining
boundaries are not defined in any way on the ground.
I enclose a plan which, with the exception
of the amendment already mentioned, is believed to be in
accordance with the one sent to the Secretary of State, but I
have a further amendment to propose. In the course of a search
to ascertain what boundary stones exist, Mr. Darby came to the
conclusion that it would be advisable to include the small hill
marked *A* within the boundaries of the grounds as any one
occupying it would overlook a large portion of thom.
I therefore submit that the red lines on
the plan now forwarded be recognised as showing the correct
boundaries where these are not already defined on the ground and
that boundary stones be put in at the various points marked
on it in red "proposed boundary stone
The Honourable
The Colonial Secretary.
