In reply to Your Lordship's despatch
No. 339 of the 31st. of last December, I have the honour to
atate that the Colonial Treasurer has pointed out that the
last Statement of Railway Accounts included with the "State-
ment of Assets and Liabilities" on the 31st. December, 1908,
of which I enclose a copy, gives the total expenditure on the
railway from the commencement up to date with the sources from
which the payments were made.

As only the totals are apparently
required and are already shown on the separate return in-
dicated above, and as it will be a matter of some difficulty
to take out the items and reclassify them for each year, the
Colonial Treasurer, before preparing an amended account for
