In my Confidential Despatch of
the 3rd. of March last, I reported that the recommendations
of the Consulting Engineers had been carefully considered
in consultation with Mr. A. J. Barry and that the scheme
proposed by the Consulting Engineers was agreed upon with
the important alteration, suggested by Mr. Barry, that the
temporary Station should be placed between Robinson Road
and Des Voeux Road.
In Your Lordship's Confidential
Despatch of the 9th. of July last, you informed me that
the Consulting Engineers agreed to the modification suggest-
-ed. They drew attention, however, to the fact that the
curves shewn on the plan for the temporary Station were
sharper than those proposed by them and they advised that
the curves of a radius not less than 12 chains should be
employed.
