With reference to previous semi-official

correspondence, I am directed to accept with thanks the offer

of the services of Mr. Percebois to assist this Government

temporarily in organizing the work of collecting the newly

imposed duties on liquor,

His Excellency the Governor greatly

appreciates the courtesy of the Inspector-General in placing

this Officer's services at the disposal of this Government and

agrees to the suggested terms viz.:- that Mr. Percebois should

be seconded on half-pay from the Customs' service, this

Government to pay the remaining half salary together with Mr. Percebois' lodging expenses and a personal allowance of $150

per mensem. I shall be glad to learn what is the amount of Mr.

Percebóis' half salary,

It should be convenient if Mr.
