Prohibition of the circulation of Chinese

Subsidiary Coins in Hongkong.

(a).

It is stated by high authorities that this

Chinese Subsidiary Coin does not in any way affect the trade

between Hongkong and China which is conducted in notes, and

Bills of Exchange &c. 1 and that the companies in Hongkong who

receive Chinese Subsidiary Coins in large quantities have the

remedy in their own hands, either by refusing to receive them
