With reference to Sir Matthew
Nathan's Despatch No. 21 of the 4th. February, 1907, which
was approved by Lord Elgin's telegram of the 12th. March,
1907, I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that the
balance of $6,814.20 now stands at credit of the fund
"Quarters for Nursing Sisters*, and to request your
authority to transfer this balance (which is at present
included in "Deposits not Available") to the revenue of
the Colony in the same manner as was done in the case of
the "Widows and Orphans Pension Fund". As in that case,

-tion becomes due on this sum since it is taken over by the
Government together with the liability involved by the
terms of transfer - a liability which the Revenue hence-
-forth incurs so long as it provides the Nurses in
accordance
