(Section 17 (1) of the Ordinance).

The pension to be entered upon the card will be the total annual revised prospective pension se- cured as at the 31/12/1908. Each total pension will be that (1) computed by the new Tables, but (2) invol- ving the higher of the two elements in any pension yielded by the old Tables or the new ones. Underneath this total pension in each case should be given, in red ink in brackets, the total annual prospective pension where every element (the amount secured by the contribution on the original salary, and by the contri- bution on each successive increase of salary) is calcu-

lated upon the new Tables alone. The difference, then

and this recomputed pension between the revised actual pension will show me the benefit which has accrued by the incorporation of the

higher elements due to the old Tables.

It may be well to point out, as regards

the revision of pensions, that under the old Tables

the husband's age was to be taken last birthday and the wife's at next birthday at the date of each computa-

tion; while according to the new Tables both ages are to be taken next birthday. This difference of practice

should be attended to.

Where a member is contributing to the fund

upoh his superannuation - pension, it should be stated in the "Remarks" space that he is pensioned, and the number of years and months of the future contribution (with its annual amount) should, of course, be fur- nished from the 31/12/08, as well as the secured pen-

sion, and the total contributions paid.
