In further reference to the letter from the Department of
October the 20th. last, the Committee have pleasure in recom-
mending Miss M.Gilmour Allan to the Secretary of State as a
suitable candidate for the vacancy in the private Nursing Staff
of the Hong Kong Colony.
Herewith are enclosed her application form and papers,
which include a reference from the Matron of the London Hospital,
who has also written to the Committee recommending Miss Gilmour
Allan for Colonial work. Miss Luckes explains her answer to
question No. 9 in the reference form, by saying that she would
not consider Miss Gilmour Allan fitted for responsible manage-
ment or control of others, but that she did well whilst a
member of the private Nursing Staff of the London Hospital.
She could be prepared to leave England about the 26th.
of November.
I am,
Sir,
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office, S.W.
Your obedient servant,
Echith In. Mowbray.
Honorary Secretary.
