A. Questions outstanding on the 1987 7 SEA

1. The balance of $11,500 outstanding as unpaid

by Mr: Tsang Keng on December 31st 1907.

Mr: Tsang Keng has been declared a bankrupt and the same amount is shown against him as outstanding on December 31st 1908. The case is in the hands of the Crown Solicitor and Mr: Tsang Keng's brother is now working on his behalf in order to complete the contract with this Government. De- ductions are made from the bills for work completed, so that there appears to be every probability of the total recovery being made in due course.

Kowloon-Canton Railway. 2. The question of extra payment to miners for L.A.'s letter No: 18/23 July 10.08.Para: 24. Sunday overtime was considered unsatisfactory and

consequently referred to you. The procedure in vogue was

allowed to continue.

3. The differences in the total Expenditure shown in the Treasury and Railway Books have been since satisfactorily adjusted.

5. These accounts have been examined in accordance with the Programme of Work approved by you. During the year 76 Queries were raised and satisfactorily settled.

6. The total Revenue collected during the year amounted to $6,104,207.33, which includes Land Sales $69,358.19. The Revenue collected during the year under review is

and $498,072.92 below that for the previous year 1907, $123,682.67 below the Estimated Revenue of $6,227,890.
