bor for løst, that the Goverment of India are being
consulted in rogard to the proposal put forward by
the Government of the United States for an Intema-
tlond Conference at the Hague to conventionalise the
repolutiolle klopted by the Changhai Opium Comtoiosior.
It weet, however, doubtr 1 whether they
will be able to fumish their views on the subject
until they have examined and conuidorod the raport of
the Shanghal Commiseion which can only have reached
then quita recently and some little time may therefore
elapse before their reply is received.
