Foreign Office, October 21, 1909. WITH reference to your despatch No. 333 of the 15th instant, I transmit to you herewith a copy of a further letter which has been received from Messrs. David Sassoon and Co.* in regard to the opium regulations put into force by the Viceroy of Nanking. A copy of the reply sent to this letter is also enclosed.†
I should be glad if you would furnish me with any observations you may have to offer on this communication.
