Foreign Office, August 23, 1909. I AM directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to transmit to you, to be laid before the Earl of Crewe, copy of a note from the Chinese Minister in London,* requesting that certain changes may be introduced into the laws of the Dominion of New Zealand which relate to the immigration of Chinese subjects.
I am to enquire what reply Lord Crewe would desire should be returned to Lord Li's note.
