This morning the exchange of letters took place.
The Chinese delegates, on behalf of Chang-chih Tung,
undertook that no objection should be taken to the
nomination by the Bank of the British and Chinese Cor-
while
poration as agents for the purchase of material,
Hillier for his part undertook that Bland should return
to Europe and cease acting as the Corporation's Repre-
sentative.
The representatives of the three banks and the
Chinese delegates subsequently initialled the loan
agreement.
