Admiralty to Foreign Office.-(Received January 5.).
Admiralty, January 4, 1909. I HAVE laid before my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty your letter of the 10th ultimo, transmitting copy of a despatch from His Majesty's Minister at Peking, inclosing correspondence as to the sovereignty over the Atoll of Pratas.
2. In reply, I am to request you will inform the Secretary of State that their Lordships concur in his opinion that there can be no question of the annexation of the atoll by this country, in view of the claims of China to its sovereignty.
The Commander-in-chief on the China station has been so informed.
