Foreign Office, May 1, 1909. MACAO. Reports have been received by the Portuguese Government of renewed agitation at Canton, encouraged by the Self-government Society urging the seizure of Macao and deprecating delimitation. It is also said that a campaign in the press has been started at Peking and Canton.
I should be glad if you would give such assistance and advice as you properly can. In all probability reports are much exaggerated.
