Sir:-
I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to acknow-
ledge the receipt of your letter No.8784 of the 20th in-
stant respecting the constitution of the proposed Court
of Appeal in Hong Kong.
I am to state for the information of the Earl of
Crewe that Sir E. Grey concurs in the terms of the des-
patch which it is proposed to send to the Governor of
Hong Kong, and that he has no objection to the proposal
that Sir F. Lugard should be instructed to communicate
to Sir F. Piggott a copy of the letter from this De-
partment of the 11th ultimo.
