Sir,
In continuation of my despatch No.4 of the 4th 1'1:0,
dealiar with the anti-foreign agitation in Canton,
I have
the honour to transmit to you here ith cory of a
despatch from Nis Majesty's Acting Consul General st
Canton reporting that the "ongkong Covernment have
decided to withdraw the orders of banishment issued against
certain members of the Self Covernment Society in
Canton.
It would appear from Mr.Toz'e despatch that the
Japanese boycott is gradually dying a natural death,
which may be materially hastened by the published
statement of the leaders of the Society, aisavowing their
alloped participation in the boycott movement as a stain
