AGREEMENT between China and the United States. According to private information given to Dr. Morrison, the " Times "correspondent, by the American Minister, Tong Shoa-yi is engaged in negotiations with the Govern- ment in Washington for an exchange of notes to result in an Agreement of a similar nature to that recently concluded between Japan and the United States.
Mr. Rockhill, who would seem to feel aggrieved at not having been approached by his Government on the subject, views the suggested Agreement with disfavour.
