MUTINY at Nganking.

Peking, November 24, 1908.

In continuation of my telegram No. 191 of yesterday's date, I have the honour to repeat the following telegram from the Commander of His Majesty's ship which I have received to-day :-

Kiukiang, 23rd November.

Flora,"

"All the foreign women and children were embarked yesterday on the "Flora," but fifteen men have been left in the city at their own request.

Though the situation remains serious there is a distinct improvement, and measures are being taken to deal with such rebels as are in the city itself.”

MUTINY at Nganking.

Peking, November 24, 1908.

In continuation of his report on the situation, which I communicated to you in my telegram No. 192 of to-day's date, the Commander of His Majesty's ship "Flora" has now further informed me of the arrival of 2,500 troops from Nanking who are to occupy the city, where everything is at present quiet, thanks to the rout of the mutinous troops.
