Bir J. Jordan to Sir Edward Grey.-(Received October 24.)

TELEGRAPHS in Manchuria.
Peking, October 24, 1908.
Please refer to Sir Claude MacDonald's telegram No. 73 to the Foreign Office of the 3rd instant.
I was officially informed yesterday by the Wai-wu Pu that the signature of the Telegraph Agreement between China and Japan had been notified to the Russian Legation.
Although the Wai-wu Pu have pointed out to M. Korostovetz that, owing to the conclusion of this Agreement, the notice of cancellation of the Russo-Chinese Convention will not now become effective, they are yet apprehensive that the Russians will demand some further concessions before giving their consent.
