I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of
Gov your letter of the 17th April No. 11264/1909 with enclo-
sures relating to the provision of rolling stock for the
Kowloon Canton Railway and in accordance with your in-
structions we are communicating copies to the Consulting
Engineers.

2. With reference to the last paragraph of your
C.R.E to C.Es.letter I enclose for the information of the Secretary of No.74 of 13.11.08
State copies of flying seal correspondence between the
Resident Engineer and the Consulting Engineers. It would
appear from the 17th paragraph of the Resident Engineer's
letter No. 80 that it is intended to let the building
of the superstructure of the passenger stock to private
firms.

3. I also take the opportunity of enclosing a copy
of a letter we addressed to the Consulting Engineers re-
garding the Resident Engineer's proposal to construct
a combined workshop and running shed locally.
