Sir,
I have the honour to inform you that the Gov-
erment of Hong Kong has forwarded to us a copy of the
Seretary of State's despatch No.230 of the 9th October last,
from the second paragraph of which we understand that we are
to pay the sum of £91 each year for five years without
further authority in respect of the pension liability of
that Colony for certain members of the late Colonial Audit
Branch.
2. From the letter No.872 of the 1st July last
addressed to you by the Comptroller and Auditor General, a
copy of which has been sent to us by the Goverment of the
Hast Africa Protectorate, it would, however, appear that the
sum in question should be paid each year for six years.
Before taking any action in the matter, we
shall be glad to receive the instructions of the Secretary
of State.
