equipment and furnishing of the University. With regard to
the former I have addressed you in a separate Despatch as
to the acquisition of a site for this purpose, and I have
little doubt that no difficulty will be experienced in
raising the requisite funds.

to lay it out. Your Lordship will observe that in addition

to the Basement there will be two stories in the main
building, providing what is considered necessary in the
way of lecture rooms, laboratories, library, &c. The
Principal's house will afford a comfortable residence for
a married man, and the Professore! houses will accommodate
six bachelors. Additional house-room can be obtained in
the close vicinity of but outside the precincts of the
University. The Church Missionary Society propose to erect
a Hostel or Boarding House for students educated in their
schools, on ground adjoining the University grounds. The
play-fields cover an area of 250 Square Feet/ which in the
far future can if necessary be appropriated to extension of
the University Buildings, while in the nearer future
considerable area for extension has been reserved as shewn
