REGE & JAN 10

Government House.

6th December 1909.

Gov 1903100

My Lord,

In a separate despatch of this date I

have had much pleasure in reporting to Your Lordship

that Mr Mody has accepted the revised designs for the

University including a very large increase in the

accomodation provided, together with separate houses

for the Principal and Professors, and the laying out

of the grounds which include the leveling of a large

playing field supported by a high retaining wall.

The cost of these great improvements as I reported

in that despatch nearly doubles the original promise

made by Mr Mody, and I have little doubt that they

will cost considerably more than the estimate.

On April the 28th last I had the

e Right Honourable

privilege of laying the foundation stone of a new

building for the Seaman's Institute, which Mr Mody
