With reference to Mr. J. Chamber-
-lain's Despatch No. 199 of the 14th. July, 1902, I have
been informed by Messrs. Deacon, Looker and Deacon, the
Solicitors in this Colony for the Electric Traction Com-
-pany of Hongkong, Limited, that their clients have ad-
-dressed Your Lordship with reference to a Bill that has
been introduced into Legislative Council to amend the
Tramway Ordinance, 1902; I accordingly forward for Your
.Lordship's information a copy of the Bill in question,
which was read a first time in Legislative Council on the
13th. of last August together with a Memorandum by the
onclosure 1. onclosure 2. Enclosure 3.
Crown Solicitor dated the 12th. of last July and the
correspondence noted in the annexed schedule.

Your Lordship will observe that
the second reading of the Bill has been postponed for 3
months from the 1st. of last September and I shall await
