To engage lecturers on board the Hongkong Canton and Macao steam-boats to give lectures.
3. To post up notices, sealed with the seal of the Registrar General, at Public Wharfs, Public buildings and other Public Places.
4. To request the Street Committee of the Public Dispensaries to assist in making known to the people the object of the said Society.
5. To provide spittoons or other receptacles for the convenience of strangers, and in case the Society is unable by themselves to fully carry out this measure, the Committee is to ask the assistance of
(a) the Government with regard to Public wharfs, Governmental buildings and other Public places under Government Control;
(b) the Sanitary Board with regard to market places;
(c) the Compradores with regard to European Firms.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Chan Kang Yue announced that he will subscribe $50.00 towards the fund of the said Society instead of $5.00.
I am also requested by the Chairman to keep you informed of the future doings of the said Society.
