I have the honour to inform Your Excellency that the information with which you have been supplied is the most unmitigated nonsense. Your Excellency's informant has apparently confused the Usher with the Registrar. I must however express my regret that Your Excellency should have believed such information without verifying it by reference to the Chief Justice.
I note that Your Excellency refers to the Registrar as "Head of the Department"; a position long since abandoned. I am glad to say that Mr. Ker and I are in complete accord as to the relative positions of the Registrar and Chief Justice.
